It’s back to school time in Alexander County and school buses will be rolling through your community carrying precious cargo. Please be aware of your surroundings as you drive your daily commute and watch out for stopped school buses. Remember that is it illegal to pass a stopped school bus displaying red flashing lights and an extended stop sign/stop arm. Officers will be posted at schools and also out looking for violations in an effort to keep our kids safe as they start their new school year. Please allow a little extra time and patience as you travel today and help us make the start to the 2015-2016 school year a safe one!
