Carlos Zavata Renteria, Jr
On Sunday, July 26, 2015, Investigators from the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office were called to respond to a residence off of Old Wilkesboro Road in Taylorsville. Once on the scene, investigators learned that the victim was reporting that sometime in the early morning hours, two Hispanic males illegally entered the residence where one of the males proceeded to sexually assault the homeowner in her bed. The victim went to Iredell Memorial Hospital where she was examined, treated and released. She was able to identify her assailant and give that information to investigators.
On Tuesday July 28, 2015 Carlos Zavata RENTERIA, Jr., age 20, of Taylorsville, was arrested and charged with one count of First Degree Burglary and one count of First Degree Rape. He was placed under a $150,000.00 secured bond. The other Hispanic male is being sought after, but the only thing investigators have at this point is a first name of “Jose”.
Mr. RENTERIA remains in custody in the Alexander County Detention Center and has a court date set for Monday, August 3rd, 2015 in District Court.
