Jerry Walter Teague
The charges against Jerry Walter Teague have been upgraded to First Degree Murder after the victim in the case, Lisa Jacobs Berry, passed away on February 11, 2014. Teague was originally arrested on February 3, 2014 on charges of Assault With A Deadly Weapon With Intent To Kill Inflicting Serious Injury after officers responded to an assault call at 54 Willard’s LN in Taylorsville. When officers arrived on the scene they found the victim, 41-year-old Lisa Jacobs Berry, unconscious and suffering from severe head trauma. She was immediately taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center where she remained in critical condition on life support until she succumbed to her injuries on February 11th. Following Berry’s death, investigators and the District Attorney’s Office upgraded the charges against her assailant, Jerry Walter Teague, to First Degree Murder. Teague, who is now being held under no bond, remains in custody at the Alexander County Detention Center. His next court appearance is scheduled for February 17, 2014 in Taylorsville.
